That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him
from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
If you've ever felt the "tug" of God on your heart, you can have salvation. By becoming a Christian, you will take one of the most important steps in your life on earth and begin an adventure unlike any other. The call to salvation begins with God. He initiates it by wooing or drawing us to come to Him. That said, if your desire is to make a personal commitment to follow Christ, all that is required is to reach out to Him now in prayer. He is listening and waiting to come into your heart and promises to help you live a better life. Will you invite Him in now?
Respond to God's "tug" or call of salvation in prayer. Prayer is simply talking with God. You can either pray by yourself, using your own words OR use one of the prayers below. Remember, there is no special formula...just pray from your heart to God and He will save you. If you're feeling a bit lost and don’t know exactly what to pray, use one of the prayers of salvation below as a guide:
The Adult Prayer
Say the following aloud or use it to lead an adult to salvation: Lord Jesus, I ask that You to come into my life and forgive me of all my sins. I confess my sins before You this day. I denounce Satan and all his works. I confess Jesus as the Lord of my life. Thank You for saving me. I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that You rose from the dead. I am saved. Write my name in the Lamb's Book of Life. I pray this prayer to the Father in the name of Jesus. Amen.
The Children's Prayer
Use the following to lead a child to salvation: Dear Jesus, thank you so much for INSERT CHILD'S NAME. Thank you for helping him/her realize that s/he is a sinner and needs your forgiveness. Thank you for dying on the cross for him/her. I pray that you will hear INSERT CHILD'S NAME now as s/he asks you to save him/her.
Now, INSERT CHILD'S NAME, repeat after me...
HOW CAN YOU BE SURE YOU'RE SAVED?
The Assurance of Salvation for Adults: From this point forward, understand that you have transferred your trust and hope of eternal life from what you have been doing to what Jesus Christ has done for you on the cross. Jesus has taken your sin and given you His right standing or righteousness with God the Father. This means that though we have failed repeatedly to keep God's commandments, Christ perfectly obeyed all the laws of God. He lived the perfect life, so He could be the perfect, innocent substitutionary sacrifice that God would accept for your sins and the sin of the entire world -- for all who believe.
The Assurance of Salvation for Children
After the child has prayed, tell him/her the following:
If you just prayed this prayer or led someone else in prayer, please email, mail, or call Mt. Rona to let us know.
